I’m having so much fun coaching lately! Here’s a quick share from a client session today.
Client: “I would appreciate discussing the topic of appropriately valuing and pricing plant medicine healing practices for a Western audience.”
After chatting with her on the call, she told me that she constantly devalues her services by not asking for the price she has on her site (which is already too low by her own standards and makes her feel icky and unsupported) and offering “pay what you can” and even free services.
(There is nothing inherently bad or wrong about a “pay what you can” or even free services. This coaching session was free after all. She was dealing with a lot of shame and discomfort tho, and we wanted to get to the bottom of it.)
Are you working with a price point that feels super uncomfortable?
I have a general rule when setting a price point (or raising your prices).
Choose a dollar amount that feels stretchy and scary and edgy but that ALSO feels exhilarating, wet, and thrilling 💦.
Choose a price point that feels like "pinch me I must be dreaming, I feel so supported by this amount of money".
Imagine how money would feel if you were excited to welcome it into your arms (and pussy). Money wants to feel desired and cherished. It loves feeling safe and circulated.
Evaluate your current vibe toward money.
Are you ashamed of proclaiming the price for your services?
Do you avoid using real numbers when you talk about money?
Are you vague and squirmy when it comes to the energy exchange part of the service?
If you aren't speaking your numbers, prices, investments aloud you might be stunting your relationship with money. The more you avoid using real numbers when you speak about money, the more ambiguous money will feel to you.
If you want money to feel REAL, TANGIBLE, & IMPACTFUL practice saying the following:
"I made $3,724.09 in the month of May"
"My service is $1,200 full pay or 2×$700"
"I invested $5k in a networking group"
*these are just examples and you should fill in the number that's real for you
