competition? nahhhh collaboration

& how we can work together in 2024

The topic of "competition" has come up several times in the last week so I wanted to share my thoughts.

In my industry (the finance and business coaching industry), there is an abundance of financial service providers and business coaches. I see them everywhere. There's a bookkeeper around every corner. I could EASILY tell myself that my services aren't needed, they aren't special, they'll just get lost in the noise.

But since the beginning of my career (and maybe this is a unique experience), I've been surrounded by the magic of collaboration between coaches, between bookkeepers, and people who are supposed to be competitors who may have incredibly similar audiences.

I have never gotten anything other than opportunities (most of the time involving being paid) by surrounding myself with my "competitors".

Not only do I believe that there is more than enough work and money to go around, I also believe in building a network, the strength of a referral, and that my work here on this Earth is to help people with their finances.

It is not to hoard them even when I'm not capable of serving them effectively.

I'd really like to repeat that 👏🏼
