Hey, I really missed you so I thought I’d write you a little note and let you know what’s been going on in my life.
Life has been really beautiful lately, and I don’t think I actually realized that until just this moment.
You know how I talk a lot about how even the most uncomfy feelings can be deeply pleasurable and cathartic? Well, I guess I have been really distracted from actually feeling those feelings. A little disconnected from my body and ungrounded.
It’s easy to just exist, ya know? It’s easy to let the hours and days slide by without truly dropping in and feeling things as they happen to me. That’s what’s been happening to me over the last month or so.
I implemented some new social media strategies in my business (I talked about it on my last podcast episode, ep 59) and I stuck to some and completely ignored others. Why is it so difficult to start a new habit??
The ones I have stuck to? My skincare routine, posting on Pinterest 5x per day (all batched ahead of time because I don’t have time for all that), posting fun and creative IG feed posts, and posting on my IG stories (which at this point would be an incredibly difficult habit to break after six years).
The ones I didn’t stick to? Well, there are a lot but the ones I think are the most glaring (and the ones I have beat myself up about the most) are posting 3x a day on TikTok and posting weekly podcast episodes.
I know the block/fear that is holding me back from those particular goals and I think if I actually tell someone about them, they won’t be so substantial anymore.
For TikTok, I hate the idea of having to put out such a massive amount of content every day. I think it’s poisonous to a person’s soul to tell them that if they want to be successful on a platform that they have to produce and output so much. TikTok does not reward casual users (no social media platform does). Not that I want to be “casual” necessarily, after all, I am running a business. But I want to be able to post a few times a week and see growth and promise.
For my podcast, if I record an episode, that means I have to edit, transcribe, write show notes, and make sure to include all the proper links before I can actually post it. A pod manager is my next hire for sure, but I’m not quite there yet.
In other news, Threads is fun, right?? I’ve spent way too much time there over the last few days but I’m loving it and actually seeing growth over there, so I think I’ll hang out there more.
I’ve asked for more hours at my freelance gigs so I’m bout to be full up on bookkeeping work 💪🏼😏.
Which leads me to think that I could probably drop that offering from my own offer suite altogether. I’d love to keep my new VIP day offer (Bookkeeping Spa Day), but I think the ongoing subscription services (Pleasure Ledger) are going to pause for now. Unless I’m like super jazzed to take someone on. I’ll give myself that grace.
I have some new goals for the month of June, a long-distance bffs trip this week, and a lot of love for you! Lmk what’s been going on with you, I hope you’re well and I can’t wait to chat soon ♥.
